I show it unchecked and also disabled, but it starts it anyway after a couple minutes and then eats up all memory and freezes everything. Update: I've found NetBalancer and Glasswire to be particularly helpful. Search or use up and down arrow keys to select an item. I wasn't initially able to run the troubleshooter because the first task it runs is to check for updates, and my system seemed to hang.

After I took all the important - necessary updates I needed , I have disabled the windows update service and I will check the updates time to time by myself. Don't forget to reset Windows Update properties to "Automatic Updates" before you restart if you changed them previously. It really sucked working on a computer with that behaviour. If you just stop it it will will get automagically resurrected.

Thats necessary because we need admin privileges for changin system files :-- For deleting or renaming, we should own that file. Install the Security Update KB2993651 according your OS version. If I was designing it that's what I would do - look at stats from the pool of machines you're updating and build deltas relative to the most common revisions.
